Our Beloved Connie
Today, our dear Connie stands surrounded by the arms of Jesus in the realms of glory. She passed from this life into eternity on August 2lst, 2007. Thank you God for allowing Tom, Connie's children, Tom's children, Bill, her parents, Harry & Patty and Cathy & Leroy to be there before she departed this life . Indeed as your Word says, You never leave us nor forsake us. Lord, you provided such comfort to Connie and Tom and we want to praise you for this!
God was so very gracious to provide a pastor (whom Ruth had called from the directory) who drove l4 miles to administer communion to Connie and pray and support the family before and after her death.
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die". (John11:25) Connie is now enjoying this promise and we want all who view this site to know the love of Christ that is waiting for you.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised". (Job 2:21). May God's richest blessings be yours now and always.

To My Little Sister....
You are a wonderful gift that God has given me for 54 years! I have learned so much from you; watching you interact with Susan, your patience with Ben, and your lovingkindness you show friends, family, and complete strangers. We have laughed, cried, and shared so much with each other. Remember our promise we made to each other- whoever made it to the nursing home first the other one would make sure we looked gorgeous, had classy surroundings, flowers, and we would be a strong advocate concerning medical decisions. I keep telling you I'll go first, so I am counting on you to be there for me when my time comes. This means you are going to have to fight so very hard to beat this monster called cancer. You can do it with the help of our Lord and Savior. Connie, God didn't give you a strong will for nothing. He has his legions of angels with you, it doesn't matter whether you change hospital rooms, hospitals, or move to another state. HE's there with his mighty hands, upholding you, caring about everydetail of your care. Let him take your pain, burden, anxiety, and YES your cancer! You are his daughter whom he loves so much that he gave up his very life for you. That's what I call LOVE! I am sending you so many hugs and kisses that this whole internet system may break down from their weight. I'm coming up next weekend and bringing my "calming presence" with me!Yes, to anyone reading this, Connie told me during my last two visits that I, Cathy Umphres, have this affect on her. I told you Miracles do happen. We have seen God's hand at work so many times and in different ways since Connie has been at Rochester. As my daughter Amanda told me,"Mom, there are miracles out there." Dear Jesus, we are humbly asking you as your dear children to give Connie a Miracle.
Love You Always,
Cathy
Love You Always,
Cathy

Message to people in Rochester Re: Needs
To all of you in Rochester taking care of things out there.....
you need to let us in Lincoln (and other areas) know of things we can do to help you. I'm sure none of you planned on being gone and sort of left indefinitely, I know the kids are there/have been there and school is starting around the corner, you have pets, house needs, etc.
We can do things!
It is ok to ask - from "hey can you check out the lawn to see if it needs mowed" to "we don't have school supplies, could you stop by and pick some things up" - whatever it is, this is something that most any of us can do and would love to do to be able to help you guys out. Seriously, help with pets, help with kids......just let us know.

Hope.....from Sarah Beth
It’s the middle of the night and I can’t sleep. Neither can I help the tears falling off my cheek or the horrible pain in my stomach. I am scared, anxious, worried, confused, pissed off yet hopeful...
I am far away from home or yet am I not, considering my mom is just down the road in this foreign city. My mom just found out she has cancer; A T-cell lymphoma, a very rare type of cancer, maybe 1 case every two years in the U.S. Sounds pretty reassuring, huh? It has spread. It is one of the fastest spreading cancers there are. It is literally all over her body, since lymphomas are carried through the blood. There are four stages of cancer. Unfortunately, she is at stage four where it has taken over her organs. She is not well. Every minute is scary. She has no blood counts and can hardly move. It is too late for radiation. She starts C.H.O.P. chemotherapy this morning…
I am already fortunate to have a dad who has survived cancer. My dad was diagnosed with the EXACT same RARE cancer when he was 32. Talk about freaking strange. The doctors are floored and are going to start a research project, because of the obscurity of these cases. He found out at stage 1. He had 3 weeks to live. It is truly a miracle that he is alive. He beat this awful disease that was attacking his body. I am asking for another miracle. Pleading, begging, hoping…
WHY, will not stop filling my head. All the questions. I can’t seem to understand it all. It is hard. The hardest hurt I have ever felt…
Please pray. Pray for a miracle…There is always hope…
WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO
Cancer is so limited that:
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit
